Three Rivers threw a haymaker in the first quarter to set up a 60-38 victory over visiting Comstock Tuesday.
The Wildcats (4-0) popped the Colts for a 17-2 first quarter and eventually built a 33-13 halftime lead. The dominant and dependable duo of Teagan Reeves (24 points) and Linsey Masnari (14) again led Three Rivers, which shot 20-for-60 from the field and 19-for-32 from the free-throw line.
Reeves collected 18 rebounds and Masnari pulled down 11. Alexis Herbert passed out five assists to accompany her four points and Cheyenne Richardson and Alyssa Smith tallied five points for the Wildcats, which were plus-four in assist-to-turnover ratio (19-to-15).
“Personally, I thought driving and drawing fouls went well for me,” Herbert said. “As a team, we worked with our new full-court press that we just learned [Monday], and that led to many turnovers.”
Comstock (1-3) was led by Morgan Baker (14 points) and Ashley Cross (12).
