CONSTANTINE — An early-season quad at Constantine Tuesday netted the host Falcons two victories out of three matches and White Pigeon came away with a clean sweep.
The Chiefs bested Constantine 25-20, 25-10 in the first match before going on to beat Marcellus and Dowagiac handily versus Marcellus and Dowagiac. The Falcons also topped Dowagiac and Marcellus.
“The girls had a rough night making things gel,” Constantine coach Niki Tulley said. “We struggled in serve receive and we also had way too many hitting and serving errors to gain any momentum. Our goal is going to be to focus on maintaining our intensity and focus throughout the entire match. These girls have a lot of potential; consistency is going to be key for us.”
Jessica Mallo and Danica Lucas teamed up for 25 combined kills and 19 digs for the Falcons, which also got a lift from Cassie Wentela’s 41 assists.
Bethany Hagner paced White Pigeon with 26 kills and Danielle Chantrenne added 25. Skyler DeMeyer posted 34 assists and Breannica Robinson contributed four blocks. Rachel Brock led the way with 23 digs.
