Bronson’s boys and girls track and field teams got the best of host White Pigeon Wednesday, but the Chiefs turned in plenty of fine performances in the first meet of the season.

The Vikings girls won 85-51, winning 10 events. However, it was a great outing for White Pigeon’s Robyn Watson, Lacee Wickey, Sydney Harmon, Cheyenne Yoder, and Dani Chantrenne, each of whom won multiple events.

Wickey cleared 4-feet, 5-inches to win the high jump before running a leg on the victorious 400-meter relay team (1:00), which included Yoder, Watson and Chantrenne. Sydney Harmon went 13-6 to win the long jump and was part of the 800 relay team along with Kathrina Hagner, Bethany Hagner and Chantrenne that won in 2:00.24.

Yoder crossed the line first in the 800 with a time of 2:56.52, Watson beat the competition by nearly 28 seconds in the mile, finishing in 6:29.94, then completed the distance double with a victory in the 3200 (14:09.45).

White Pigeon’s boys team lost the dual meet 78-50. Cahil Krajniak posted three wins to lead the Chiefs. Krajniak’s 18-7.25 long jump eclipsed his nearest competitor by over two feet, and he cruised to a win in the 110 hurdles (16.30). He added win in the 300 hurdles (45.79) to cap the day.

Jarrett Miller edged Bronson’s Matt Cosby in the mile, finishing just over two seconds ahead with a time of 5:18.13. Jamie Rangle took the top spot in the 800 with a time of 2:31.34, beating Isaac Robertson by a tenth of a second. Mike Crowl placed first in the 400 (59.85) to round out the Chiefs’ winners.
