It took a little time to warm up, but White Pigeon finished the second half strong for a 47-26 win Monday at home.
Bethany Hagner recorded 12 points and six rebounds, Skyler DeMeyer posted 11, and Riley Phelps and Haley Miller each added nine for White Pigeon, which improved to 7-5 this year. Miller led the team with 12 rebounds, while Hagner grabbed six.
DeMeyer had a team-high three assists and four steals to go with a 3-of-6 effort from behind the 3-point line. Kathrina Hagner produced three points and five rebounds, and Sydney Harmon, Rachel Brock and Allie Bailey each had a point
“We are trying to get the rust off and really played well in the second half,” White Pigeon coach Jeff Baechler said. “Can’t wait to be able to get the girls in the gym due to the weather.”
Anessa Broker ended the evening with 11 points and two assists and Makayla Craun finished with a double-double of 10 points, 13 rebounds, four blocks, two steals and an assist for Colon (5-5).
Morgan Czajkowski notched two points and seven boards, Ashleigh Wolf had two points, Gretta Minor finished with one and Kali Tyler chipped in with five rebounds.
