The Glen Oaks Community College men’s basketball team polished off Lansing 115-96 Wednesday at home to wrap up its second consecutive Michigan Community College Athletic Association Western Division championship.
Angelos Griffis poured in 26 points and Lee Gardner III posted 25 in a regular-season finale that bumped the Vikings up to 22-5 overall and 13-3 in the final conference standings.
The win also earned home-court advantage for Saturday’s state title game against Wayne.
“I’m so proud of my guys tonight,” Vikings coach Steve Proefrock said.
Aundreyan Roberts and Quilyn Howard-Upshaw finished with 18 and 17 points, respectively, for GOCC. Aleksander Antic added 13 points, Kavon Gardner and Eric Nix had six each and Joseph Beard recorded four.
