The Glen Oaks Community College men’s basketball team earned an 88-78 road win over Ancilla Wednesday to remain atop the Michigan Community College Athletic Conference Western Conference standings.
The Vikings moved to 15-2 overall and 6-0 in conference play, with Angelos Griffis notching 29 points and 14 rebounds and Lee Gardner posting 25 points and seven boards.
“Monster night,” GOCC coach Steve Proefrock said of Griffis’ performance. “We rode our two horses, Angelos and Lee, to the finish. Both had great nights.”
Aundreyan Roberts was the other Viking to reach double figures, finishing with 10 points and a team-high five assists.
Both teams committed 11 turnovers, and Ancilla edged GOCC on the glass 47-42. Glen Oaks shot 50 percent for the game compared to Ancilla’s 30-for-77 (.390) effort.

The Vikings improved to 11-5 overall and 3-3 in the MCCAA Western Conference after its road trip to Ancilla. Au’zhane King finished with 16 points and four assists, Anika Gasich produced 15 points on five 3-pointers, Alaina Schwarz had 13 points and nine rebounds, Courntney Moore posted 12 points and seven boards, and De’Ottia Robinson tallied 10 points and three assists.
