Union City’s boys basketball team shot nearly 50 percent from the field Tuesday at Colon on its way to a 64-39 victory to start the season.
Larson Kever scored 27 points on 13-for-25 shooting for Union City.
Clayton Wolf led the Magi with 17 points and seven rebounds. Austin Stoll scored seven points to go with six rebounds, two assists and five blocks, and Jonathan Smolarz chipped in five points, four rebounds and three assists.
Philip Alva registered three points, one assist and four boards, and Austin Knauss, Garrick Yaudes and Brendan Barkman each scored two points. Andy Stoll hit a free throw for the Magi and pulled down three rebounds.
