“Overall a very nice day for us,” Sturgis coach Von Metzger said. “We were the victims of an unfortunate draw that matched us up against Portage Central in the second round. It was nice to avenge our only two league losses to Coldwater and Gull Lake. We are fairly healthy and ready for districts on Monday night. I thought the bench did a very nice job of keeping the energy level up and helping the girls on the floor play with more intensity. Hopefully, this will continue as we move forward.”
