Three Rivers’ boys golf team scored 191 for fourth place at Monday’s Wolverine Conference West Division jamboree at Lake Michigan Hills. Dowagiac won the event with 184, followed by Edwardsburg (189) and Coloma (190). Berrien Springs (209) and South Haven (237) placed fifth and sixth, respectively.
The low individual score of 42 belonged to Dowagiac. The Wildcats’ Colin Meyer and Daniel Grace shot 46 to tie for seventh and teammate Trenton Karle tied for ninth with a round of 47. Tanner Horton shot 52 and Zach Jackson posted 53 to round out Three Rivers’ top five.
“The scores were very high overall given that the temperatures were in the upper 30s to low 40s with blustery winds and snow flurries,” first-year Three Rivers coach Bob Bales said. “Not to mention that most teams have had little or no outside practice due to the weather and spring break schedules. I was happy with the play of our team and expect that we will challenge for the top spots in future matches.”
