Three Rivers girls XC snags two conference wins

October 2, 2013 By Wes Morgan

The Three Rivers girls cross country team earned a 16-46 victory over Allegan and a 15-50 win over host Comstock Tuesday in a Wolverine Conference double dual. The Wildcats claimed the top-four spots with Alicia Schmidtendorff winning the race in 22 minutes, 32.1 seconds.

Marley Guy was second (23:10.5), Jamie Barrett placed third in 23:37.2 and Rain Barnes was fourth in 23:49.8. Carolyn Kirchner (24:21) and Alyssa Speelman (25:23) were sixth and seventh, respectively, for the Wildcats.

“It’s always nice to get victories against conference teams, but the way we did it tonight, having the winning runner and four Wildcats in the top five places, is particularly satisfying,” coach Josh Bell said.
