Three Rivers cross country competed at the Division 2 regional at Portage West Middle School Saturday.
Senior Marley Guy led the girls with a 29th-place finish in 20:54.4. Senior Alicia Schmidtendorff was 40th overall in 21:27.2, sophomore Rain Barnes (21:37.7) placed 43rd, freshman Alyssa Speelman was 51st with a tie of 22:18.3 and sophomore Carolyn Kirchner rounded out the team’s top five in 54th place with a time of 22:24.2.
Grand Rapids South Christian won the regional with 56 points. Otsego (58) and Vicksburg (93) to also advance to the state finals.
St. Joseph won with 35 points, followed by Otsego (42) and South Haven (114). The Wildcats boys team was 10th with 274 points.
Senior David McCriston finished 47th to lead the Wildcats boys in a time of 18:28.6. Freshman Andrew Johnson was less than two seconds behind in 48th place, sophomore Nate Eldridge was 58th in 18:48.6 and junior Joe Lundquist placed 59th in 18:52.1. Sophomore Dylan Alexanderson turned in a time of 18”55.1 in 62nd place for the fifth team scoring spot.
