Three Rivers’ Connor Smith headed to Cornell

February 5, 2014 By Wes Morgan

Connor Smith signs

Three Rivers lineman Connor Smith committed to Ivy League institution Cornell in December and made it official Wednesday. Well, sort of. Since Ivy League schools do not award athletic scholarships, National Letters of Intent are not used. So what was Smith signing at his press conference at Three Rivers high school?

“We actually made a fake paper so it looks somewhat real,” the driven young man said.

When you work as hard as Smith has to accomplish so much in both the classroom and on the gridiron, you desire to have your moment. Here’s the story that was published at joeinsider.com late last year when Smith chose Cornell.
