Three Rivers had a great day in Friday’s MHSAA bowling team regional at M-66 Bowl in Battle Creek. The Wildcats earned the girls regional championship with a total score of 2603, finishing ahead of Olivet (2597) and Napoleon (2571).
The TR boys were one pin from being boys champion as well, taking second at 3197 behind Napoleon’s 3198. Third was Lansing Catholic at 3110. The results send both Wildcat teams to the Division 3 state finals next weekend at JAX 60 in Jackson.
Two Wildcat boys and one girl qualified in Sunday’s individual regional as well. Devin Svoboda finished third at 1264 and Sulley Zietlow was 1219 to earn individual boys honors. The other TR boys scores were Theo Hermann (20th, 1056), Lucan Hoercher (41st, 927), Jonah Zietlow (64th, 843), and Harper James (77th, 761).
Tayler Mohney was second among all girls with a 1050, only three pins behind event champion Sydney Gallagher of Napoleon. The other Wildcat girls scores were Laighnee Roll-Pike (17th, 877), Carley Krauss (19th, 875), Lexie Page (35th, 816), Maddi Hammon (39th, 797), and Rosa Cabrera (76th, 586).
Three Rivers returns to JAX 60 in Jackson next weekend for the Division 3 state finals.
