Centreville High School product and veteran Major League Baseball relief pitcher Matt Thornton will be in pinstripes when the 2014 season begins. According to multiple media outlets, the left-handed free agent signed a two-year deal with the New York Yankees worth $7 million. Thornton, 37, played for the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox in 2013, working 43 1/3 innings with a 3.74 ERA.
