A barrage of 3-pointers to end the first half put distance between Hackett Catholic Central and Constantine Tuesday in a 71-52 Fighting Irish victory.
A trio of triples fell for Hackett, which improved to 7-5 overall and 6-4 in the Kalamazoo Valley Association, after getting into the locker room with a 33-22 advantage.
Joey Steiner scored 18 points and Cody Ley finished with 14 to lead the Falcons (0-10, 0-9). Luhk Mullendore posted eight points, Anthony Bontrager added seven, Perry White contributed three and Austin Kinser added two.
“The game stayed a 10-point game until late in the fourth quarter,” Constantine coach Chuck Frisbie said. “Thought we had good ball movement tonight on offense. Defensively, we need to a better job of recognizing shooters and keeping the ball out of the lane.”
Ley finished with 13 rebounds and Mullendore had eight. White led the team with four assists.
