Three Rivers alum Tanner Blyly became the career assists leader for Kalamazoo College men’s basketball Wednesday evening. The Hornet senior dished out nine assists and scored 23 points in Kalamazoo’s 108-103 victory against Olivet.
Blyly now sits at 262 total assists, surpassing 2003 graduate Dirk Rhinehart’s old record of 261. A regular starter since his freshman year, Blyly led the Hornets in assists in the last two seasons and currently has a team-best 58 this year. Blyly is also 104 points shy of 1000 for collegiate his career.
Wednesday’s home victory was the first MIAA win for Kalamazoo this season. The Hornet women also grabbed their first league win Wednesday night on a 70-68 overtime win at Olivet.
