The Sturgis varsity girls swimming and diving team rallied Thursday for a 100-83 victory over South Haven, which included 11 season-best performances by the Trojans.
Freshman Olivia Feyes had an impressive evening with a career-best time of 2:46.32 for a victory in the in the 200 individual medley, and she went on to post a winning time of 1:17.23 in the 100-yard backstroke.
Feyes teamed up with junior Katelyn Strawser, senior Laci Gottschalk and sophomore Breana Hagerty for a victory in the 200 freestyle relay (2:18.85) and the 400 freestyle relay (4:28.25).
Strawser added a personal-best time to win the 200 freestyle in 2:18.85. Hagerty finished first in the 100 freestyle with a season-best time of 59.88. Sophomore Teagan Bush and Freshman Jane Toner finished third and fourth, respectively.
Gottschalk was first overall in diving with a score of 217.40, followed by teammates Aubrey Mealor (149.95) and Jozi Bart (133.90) — each of whom registered season-best performances. Gottschalk also took second in the 100 butterfly (1:16.95) and Allison Littlefield, a senior, was fourth with a career-best time of 3:09.33.
