Friday saw the Sturgis Invitational boys golf event at the Klinger Lake Country Club. The hosting Trojans finished second at 339, only three strokes behind event champion Hackett Catholic Prep at 336. Three Rivers was fifth at 378.
Sturgis’ Hayden Goodman was the top individual player at 77 with Graeme Herald second at 79. Austin Sanford finished with 87 and both Luc Vander Hulst and Charlie Frost had 96.
TR’s Garron Gahan was third individually with 80. Isaac Adams scored 89, Caleb Quake 104, and Nick Melville 105 for Three Rivers.
“I am very happy for Garron that he was able to medal today, he put together a really solid round in cool, rainy conditions,” said Three Rivers coach Patrick Kline. “We just need to find a bit more consistency at numbers three and four, and we’ll really be able to lower our team score.”
Three Rivers heads to Lake Doster Monday to play Plainwell in a Wolverine Conference match. Sturgis goes to Cheshire Hills to face Allegan Monday.
