The Southwest 10 Conference announced the all-conference selections for the fall 2022 Monday on Facebook. As expected, the three St. Joseph County schools in the conference were well represented across multiple sports.
For volleyball, four from Centreville earned first-team honors; team captain Bella Kessler, along with Sophia Deeds, Faith Edwards, and Kali Evans. The Bulldogs’ Adalae Hackett was a second-team pick and getting honorable mention were Hailey Miller and Rilyn Younts.
Mendon’s Alexis Ames, Makennah Mullin, and Kayla Wenzel all made the first-team volleyball list. Getting second team were Caylena Briggs and Carlie Doehring, while honorable mention went to Alicyn Arevalo and Jadyn Samson.
White Pigeon’s Ellie McBride and Jaylee McBride were second-team selections. Megan Kemp and Taylor Wesolek received honorable mention.
For 11-player football, the first team offense was captained by Centreville’s Jacob Sikanas Jr. Joining him from the Bulldogs were Gavin Bunning, Micah Lemings, Branson Shrock, and Morgan Taylor. Second-team went to Centreville’s Aiden Hasbrouck and Kole Kindig; while honorable mention on fofense were Jordan Monson and Chaseton Wyckoff.
Five from White Pigeon also were first-team offense in Esteban Castro, Josh Davidson, Dominic Fraschetti, Seth Miller, and James Stewart. WP’s Chaz Underwood was second-team offense with honorable mention for Wyatt Carunchia and Caleb Lane.
Three Chiefs were first-team defense with the team captain Seth Miller, plus Josh Bontrager and Chris Jackson. Second-team defense from WP were Nate Irwin and Jordan Stamper.
Centreville had seven on the first-team defense with Trenton Bates, Lukas Brooks, Gavin Bunning, Carter Cartier, Brady Miller, Roman Robinson, and Jacob Sikanas. Second-team were Kaeden Wells and Kam Wells.
For the eight-player football nods, making first-team offense from Mendon were captain Noah Iobe, plus Kace Gonser, Evan Lukeman, and Jack McCaw. Honorable mention were given to Dylan Cupp and Nathan Vergauwen. On the first-team defense from the Hornets was captain Khayvien Brown, along with Grant Crotser, Gabe Haigh, Luke Schinker, and Nic Stiver.
The girls cross country first team was captained by Presley Allen of Mendon with Rowan Allen also making the cut. Centreville’s Ellie Reed, Emmy Pritchard, and Autumn Major were first-team, as was White Pigeon’s Jamielynn Delarye.
Boys first-team cross country runners were Centreville’s Logan Weis, White Pigeon’s Jesse Fielis, and Mendon’s Ben Iobe. Second team were the Bulldogs’ Ethan Miller, Ben Reed, and Donovan Blum; plus WP’s Jack Williams. Centreville’s Weis also earned the Bill Swanwick Courageous Runner award.
