Mendon opened the 2023 softball season with a home doubleheader Tuesday against Athens. The Hornets split the pair, dropping game one 12-2 and taking game two 9-1.

Game two saw Hornet pitcher Rowan Allen toss a no-hitter in a dominant seven innings. Allen struck out 17 with one walk and one unearned run. Offensively, Kaidee Gonser, Carlie Doehring, and Brielle Bailey each had three-hit games. In game one, Ally Butler had two RBI for Mendon.
Mendon begins Southwest 10 Conference play Thursday when they host White Pigeon in a doubleheader.
