Howardsville Christian claimed a district soccer title on Thursday, winning the championship game 2-1 over Bridgman. The win puts the Eagles at 17-1-1 overall with their second district crown in three years. The regional semifinal will be Wednesday at 8 p.m. from Holland Christian against the winner of Western Michigan Christian and NorthPointe Christian. Calvin Christian and Hartford are on the other side of the bracket.
Three Rivers was knocked out in the district semifinal Thursday 6-1 by Paw Paw, ending the Wildcats season at 3-14-0. The Red Wolves (9-8-1) host Watervliet in the district championship Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
The soccer season ended in the district semifinal Wednesday for Sturgis, as the Trojans dropped a 3-1 result to Edwardsburg. Sturgis finishes the season at 10-7-0 and graduates seniors Luis Correa-Cortez, Braulio Galvan Sanchez, and Efrain Montoya. The Eddies (16-3-0) play at St. Joseph against the Bears in the district final Saturday at 11 a.m.
