Only one St. Joseph County soccer team ended up competing in district play Tuesday. Howardsville Christian advanced to their district championship with a 1-0 home victory against Cassopolis.
The Eagles are now 16-1-1 heading into Thursday’s championship against Bridgman, who improved to 9-10-0 with their 2-1 semifinal win over Niles Brandywine. The championship game is 5 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Our Lady of the Lake.
Elsewhere, weather and field conditions changed up schedules. For Sturgis, their semifinal was pushed back a day to Wednesday. They’ll battle Edwardsburg at 5 p.m. from St. Joseph High School with the district final now penciled in for 11 a.m. Saturday.
Three Rivers had their semifinal pushed back to Thursday at 5 p.m. where they’ll face the district host Paw Paw. The championship will be at Paw Paw Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
