Schoolcraft rolls Lawton 42-7 for district football title

November 13, 2020 By Jordan Slocum

Schoolcraft football secured a third consecutive district championship with Friday’s 42-7 home win over SAC Valley rival Lawton.   Unlike their regular season meeting which was still competitive into the fourth quarter, the Eagles had a 35-0 lead by halftime.

All five Schoolcraft drives in the first half went for points with four passing touchdowns and one scramble score by quarterback Alex Thole.   Their opening score came on a fourth-and-five at the 25, finding Jake Olvitt on a pass.   The third TD also was on a fourth down as Thole scrambled 26 yards to the endzone.

Now at 8-1, the Eagles earn another shot at a regional championship against powerhouse Jackson Lumen Christi, who eliminated Schoolcraft 35-30 last year en route to a state runner-up finish.   Unlike the 2019 meeting, the Eagles will get to host with the date and time to be announced.    With the loss, Lawton finishes at 7-2, falling in the district final for the second straight season to Schoolcraft.
