Listen live Friday via JoeInsider.com as both Kalamazoo Christian and Schoolcraft will compete in softball state semifinal games from Michigan State University’s Secchia Softball Stadium.
The Comets will begin Friday’s slate of games at 10 a.m. as they battle with another group of Comets from Coleman High School. According to the final Division 4 coaches association poll, they are the best two teams in the field. Top-ranked Coleman is 35-7 and took runner-up honors against Centreville last year. Second-ranked K-Christian is 32-7, trying to get their 12th state finals berth and first since 2015.
Schoolcraft’s semifinal will be the third of the day and first within Division 3 with a 3 p.m. start, although it may begin later if the prior games go long. The 31-4 Eagles are in the semis for the first time ever and meet second-ranked Dundee (33-9). The Vikings once before made it to the final four, taking a state title in 2013.
You can listen to both games via the embedded player below Friday with K-Christian/Coleman at 10 a.m. and Schoolcraft/Dundee around 3 p.m., although it could end up later. If one or both advance to Saturday’s final, they will also be broadcast via JoeInsider.com.
