Listen live Friday at 5 p.m. ET via JoeInsider.com as the Kalamazoo College women’s soccer team begins the 2018 campaign against the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE).
The Hornets are coming off an 11-8-1 season in 2017, including a 6-2-1 mark playing at MacKenzie Field. They finished fourth within the MIAA standings at 10-5-1. Kalamazoo returns two all-MIAA players in first-team forward Libby Munoz and second-team defender Sarah George. Munoz notably scored 19 goals last season, half of the team’s total goals.
Meanwhile, MSOE has been consistently successful, getting their 11th consecutive winning season with a 12-9-0 record last year. They claimed the NACC regular season conference crown for the second straight year. Key players back for them include first-team NACC defender Shelby Namen and first-team forward Brooke Zidek.
These schools have met before on the pitch, with MSOE winning 3-1 in a September 2016 meeting at the Saint Mary’s Invitational.
