Brad Brittingham’s 12-footer at the buzzer bounced off the front of the rim as Colon fell 47-46 Thursday at home to Pittsford.
Brittingham, dealing with illness, led the Magi with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Spencer Smolarz added nine points and three boards, and Brandon Hinkley had eight points.
“Once again we got off to a slow start,” Colon coach Mike Sowles said. “We turned the ball over seven times in the first quarter. And did not get to the shooters on the perimeter as Pittsford hit seven 3-pointers in the first half.
“We did regroup and comeback but we could never get a bucket to get the lead.”
Trent Brackman posted 18 points for Pittsford.
Brett Prell chipped in five points and five rebounds for Colon, with Gabe Keely, Logan Vaughn and Billy Vaughn totaling three points apiece. Bailey Tyler finished with two points, three rebounds, three assists and a steal.
