An outmatched Constantine girls basketball team lost at home Friday to Kalamazoo Valley Association opponent Olivet, 59-13.
The Falcons dropped to 1-3 this year and Olivet improved to 4-0.
Hayley Walkowski finished with a triple-double for the Eagles, scoring 19 points, passing out 10 assists and grabbing 10 rebounds. Aleena Janousek logged 10 rebounds to go with 12 rebounds.
Deshea Payton led Constantine with seven points and four rebounds, Emily Schrock added three points, Michelle Smith finished with two points and Kerrigan Harris added one. Amber Anderson did not score but collected four rebounds.
“We are a program trying to build, while Olivet is a well established program that simply continues to reload,” Constantine coach Joe Stacey said. “We obviously knew going in that there were areas we needed to focus on during the game. The score was not one of them. Breaking a press, running and executing our offense, hustle at all times, and do not give up. If all 12 girls can commit to those aspects of their inner game, we could still gain something from this game. … For our team and program to continue to build, all of the girls must be willing to give maximum effort even in the toughest situations.”
