White Pigeon’s boys basketball team put host Marcellus Howardsville Christian at arm’s length early and got out of town with a 56-41 victory.
Mitchell Moore scored 20 points on 8-for-15 shooting, followed by 16 points by Dylan Hochstetler, who made 5 of 9 attempts from the field for the Chiefs (5-8). David Miller chipped in five points, Riley Olsen and Mike Crowl each had four, Brett Baker scored three, and Jarrett Miller and Blake Groves finished with two.
Moore completed the double-double with 11 rebounds, and he added six assists and two steals. Hochstetler grabbed seven rebounds and registered an assists and a steal.
Nathan Parks led Howardsville Christian with 28 points.
“Tonight’s effort and game play was a true example of our team’s definition of commitment — a responsibility to something other than self,” White Pigeon coach Tony Cholometes said. “Our young men shared the ball very well offensively and looked for one another. I was very proud of our selfless play tonight.”
