Mendon held on Tuesday night for a 32-30 varsity girls basketball victory at home against Decatur in Southwest 10 Conference play.
Trailing 15-13 at halftime and 21-20 at the end of the third quarter, Mendon pulled out the victory with some key field goals by Cierra Nightingale, Taylor Heitkamp and Hayley Kramer in the fourth quarter.
Hannah Duchene scored 10 of her team-high 12 points in the first half, Nightingale recorded seven points, and Heitkamp finished the game with six points. Kramer scored three, Amaijha Bailey had two and Mackenzie Urick hit a free throw.
Kramer led the team with 10 rebounds, followed by Duchene (five), Heitkamp (three), Urick (two) and Bailey (one). Bailey had a team-best three assists, and Kramer made five steals and three blocks.
Allison Warkentier led Decatur with 10 points.
Mendon improved to 3-4 overall and 3-3 in the league, while Decatur slipped to 4-4 overall and 3-3 in the league.
