Jason Moreau had the final dagger with 4:10 left.
Unofficially, Wildcat goalie Brendan Pellerito made 19 saves in the victory. PN’s Peter Todd had 30 saves in defeat. Agnew had a four point night for Mattawan with a goal and three assists.
The loss puts Portage Northern at 1-1-1 overall and 0-1 to start division play. The Huskies return to action next Wednesday with a league duel against the Kalamazoo Eagles, which can be heard live via JoeInsider.com.
