Marshall’s girls basketball team jumped on host Sturgis Friday night in the Trojans’ season opener and left town with a 64-27 victory.
Tiera Orban scored a game-high 20 points for the Redhawks, which had a 34-17 lead at halftime.
Rachel Anderson registered 13 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks for Sturgis. Nicolette Nelson added eight points, two blocks and 12 rebounds, Marissa Parker finished with a point, two assists and three boards and Morgan Pueschel chipped in two points, three steals and five rebounds.
Gretchen Inman recorded a point and three rebounds, Jessica Cline added two points, a steal and a board and Kayla Nichols pitched in an assist and Harmony Groves chipped in two steals and a rebound.
The Trojans host Three Rivers Tuesday.
