Constantine’s girls basketball squad stay within arm’s reach of Maple Valley through three quarters Tuesday and poured in on in the fourth, but the Falcons failed to complete the comeback in a 34-30 home loss.
Ashley Loose put up 10 points to lead Constantine, now 2-8 overall and 1-7 in the Kalamazoo Valley Association. Emily Schrock finished with eight and Amber Chupp totaled four.
Constantine trailed 21-14 after two quarters and faced an eight-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter.
Bailey Potter added three points and six rebounds, and Michelle Smith registered two points, six boards, four assists and seven steals. Emily Bowers contributed two points and DeShea Payton tallied a free throw.
Olivia Ricketts led Maple Valley (2-7, 2-4) with 11 points.
