Colon had four players score in double digits Thursday night en route to a 75-50 boys basketball victory over host Litchfield.
Austin Stoll led the Magi with a game-high 18 points, to go along with eight rebounds. Teammates Jonathan Smolarz, Andy Stoll and Clayton Wolf each scored 12 points.
Colon trailed, briefly, during the early stages of the opening quarter, but did not relinquish the lead once it was established. Colon led, 17-11 after eight minutes had elapsed and, 37-27 by halftime.
The Magi turned up their defensive intensity during the third quarter, nearly doubling up Litchfield (17-9) to effectively seal Litchfield’s fate.
Andrew Smolarz finished with eight points for Colon, while teammates Philip Alva and Matthew Bissett each chipped in with five. Isaiah Fellers (2 points) and Ryan Clark (1 point) rounded out the scoring for Colon.
Colon outrebounded Litchfield by a lopsided 45-29 margin. Jonathan Smolarz grabbed a game-high 12 caroms, while Austin Stoll and Wolf accounted for eight and seven rebounds, respectively.
Austin Stoll also blocked two shots and recorded three steals, while Wolf blocked three shots and came up with two steals.
Colon shot 40 percent from the field (30 of 75) and committed just seven turnovers.
Litchfield got a team-high 14 points from Andrew Hale, and teammate Owen Signor chipped in with 12 points.
