Colon’s girls basketball team picked up its first victory of the season Friday with a 43-12 win at Tekonsha.
The Magi are now 1-5 overall and 1-3 in the Southern Central Athletic Association. Makayla Craun led the team with 16 points, 19 rebounds and seven steals. Anessa Broker registered seven points and three steals, Skyler Harvey chipped in six points, four steals and two boards, Taya Bower contributed four points, four rebounds and a steal, Morgan Czajkowski tallied four points, three rebounds and a steal and Kali Tyler finished with four points, five rebounds and two steals.
“I was pleased with the girls’ performance tonight,” Colon coach Sharon Craun said. “We had a lot of time off with the weather, but they did a nice job tonight. Makayla did a good job leading the team tonight. The girls did a nice job playing together as a team.”
