Lady Vikings move on to district semis

March 5, 2014 By Wes Morgan

The Glen Oaks women’s basketball team beat Lansing 65-50 Tuesday in a home National Junior College Athletic Association Division II district quarterfinal game.

Anika Gasich scored 17 points for the Vikings and Courtney Moore also finished with 17 after catching fire in the second half for 15. Moore also finished with nine rebounds for GOCC, which improved to 18-9 this year and takes on Kalamazoo Valley at Delta College on Friday. The winner of the district tournament earns a trip to Kansas for the national tourney. Glen Oaks lost both of its games against KVCC earlier this season.

Au’zhane King added 10 points and 4 assists, Alaina Schwarz registered eight points, De’Ottia Robinson pitched in seven points and five assists, and Kira Smith netted six points.

No other game statistics were reported.
