Gabby Spangler scored nine of her game-high 31 points in the third quarter to lead Jackson Christian to a 68-37 victory Monday at Burr Oak.
Down 18-4 after the first quarter, the Bobcats made a push for 19 points in the second frame to cut the deficit to 10 by halftime. But Spangler’s effort in the third stanza closed the door on Burr Oak.
“We had a few mental errors that cost us big,” Bobcats coach Jennifer Sutton said. “On the upside, Ariel Schwemer played one of her best games defensively.”
Jade Lown scored 11 points to lead Burr Oak, followed by Chelsey Boyd (eight), Michaela Ultz (seven), Hannah Root (four), Jade Summey (four) and Schwemer (three).
