Sturgis junior guard Jack Scheske ignited for 19 points, including a 5-for-10 effort from the 3-point line, in the Trojans’ 40-38 win over Three Rivers on Dec. 10 to open the season. He talked to joeinsider.com’s Wes Morgan after the game about how the young team is coming together and what it needs to work on moving forward.
“Jack has to really have a breakout year; Jack is going to be a go-to guy,” Sturgis coach Keith Kurowski said. “He has the green light offensively and I want him putting up a ton of shots from the outside. I’ve preached in practice that Jack and Chance have to pretty much get about 70-80 percent of the shots and the other guys have to be the distributors.
“That’s a good start for Jack. He’s been shooting the ball really well and he hit some big, big second-half shots. He gave us some breathing room there and was a part of that 12-0 run in that third quarter.”
