Hackett Catholic opened 2019 with their highest-scoring outing yet this season, winning at home 89-31 Friday against Galesburg-Augusta. The 89-point outing tops their 87-69 win over Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart to close 2018 and is their third game in seven tries with 80-plus.
Every player dressed for the Irish scored, topped by 21 from Aidan Gillig. He and Connor Cavanaugh both hit four three-pointers on the night. Cavanaugh and Heath Baldwin both finished with 14 points. Drew Reist was G-A’s best with eight.
The Rams drop to 0-7 overall and 0-3 within the SAC Valley. Up next, they’ll host Michigan Lutheran Tuesday, then travel to Schoolcraft next Friday.
Hackett moves to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the SAC Valley, the lone unbeaten within the division. They’ll host Gobles Tuesday, followed by a trip to Constantine next Friday.
