Monday saw another SCAA boys golf jamboree, this time at the Hillsdale Country Club. Hillsdale Academy had the top score at 180. Colon placed sixth at 235 and Burr Oak was seventh at 269. Individually for the Bobcats, Flavio Hernandez led the way with a 51, tying him for 12th.
“The weather was great last night except a little windy,” noted Bobcats coach Tyler Hunt. “The course is much harder than most courses we play, that is why I believe our scores were higher. The team was hitting good shots in the fairways/rough but putting was very difficult. The greens were hard to read and not at all flat.”
Branson Hernandez and Ethan Lindsey both scored a 71 and Austin Cole carded 76. Colon’s results were not available.
Over in the Wolverine Conference, Sturgis defeated Paw Paw 171-191 in a Monday dual at Klinger Lake. Hayden Goodman topped the Trojans with 38, a career-best for him on nine holes. Graeme Herald had a 40, followed by Austin Sanford (43), Charlie Frost (50), Luc Vander Hulst (53) and Nick Berry (57).
On Tuesday, Sturgis beat Dowagiac 185-206 with individual results not available. The Trojans and Plainwell both are tied atop the league dual standings at 7-2. Elsewhere in the league Tuesday, Edwardsburg topped Three Rivers 190-207. Individual results were not available.
