The Sturgis boys golf team finished second in Friday’s White Pigeon Invitational at Klinger Lake. Graeme Herald and Hayden Goodman both cracked the top five individually with scores of 81 and 82, respectively. Rounding out the Trojan lineup was Luc Vander Hulst at 96, Charlie Frost at 101, and Nick Berry at 114. Complete results for the event were not available.
On Thursday, Three Rivers dropped a tight Wolverine Conference match 180-186 against Allegan over at Sauganash.
“I was pleased with the way the guys rebounded from Monday, our scoring was a bit more consistent tonight,” said Wildcats coach Patrick Kline. “We are obviously more comfortable at home, but we were able to shave 21 strokes off of our score from Monday. I’m hoping we can carry some momentum into the conference tournament next week.”
Garron Gahan led TR with a 42, followed by Nick Melville (47), Caleb Quake (48), and Isaac Adams (49).
On Monday, the Wildcats and Trojans have the “County Cup” match play event at Klinger Lake. TR won the inaugural event last year.
