Glen Oaks Community College men’s basketball coach Steve Proefrock called it a “foul-plauged” win, but the Vikings kept rolling in Michigan Community College Athletic Association play Monday against visiting Muskegon with a 91-83 verdict.
The win boosts GOCC to 14-2 overall and 5-0 in the Western Conference.
“The game came down to the last five minutes and we went inside on offense and played containment-man defense to win the game,” Proefrock said.
The duo from Kalamazoo Central High School did it again for the Vikings, with both Lee Gardner III and Angelos Griffis notching 23 points. Dominique King posted 14 and Aundreyan Roberts reached double figures with 11. Gardner registered 16 points over the last 10 minutes to seal it for the Vikings.
Glen Oaks remains atop the conference standings, holding a one-game lead over Kalamazoo Valley.
