Gobles’ boys basketball team picked up a 50-34 victory at White Pigeon Friday in holiday tournament action.
Mitchell Moore led the Chiefs (0-3) with 13 points, four rebounds, four steals and a block. Mike Crowl chipped in seven points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked four shots.
“We are still searching as a team for an identity,” White Pigeon coach Tony Cholometes said. “Patiently executing offensive sets, defensive toughness, game focus and that play that can be described as ‘playing with the heart of a lion’ still evades us as a team. We need to assess, adjust and deliver through extraordinary effort so that we can begin to become that team which we want to become.”
Ben Shuler poured in 17 points for Gobles, which improved to 1-3. Jake Tiller added 15 points for the Tigers.
Dylan Hochstetler scored six points, Jarrett Miller posted five and David Miller finished with three for White Pigeon.
