Vikes win first MCCAA game

The Glen Oaks Community College women’s basketball team picked up its first Michigan Community College Athletic Association win Friday, beating Grand Rapids 69-56 on the road.

Anika Gasich knocked down seven 3-pointers to finish with 23 points for the Vikings (9-4, 1-2 MCCAA Western Division). Au’zhane King posted 12 points and four assists, while Kira Smith added 11 points and seven rebounds. De’Ottia Robinson also had 11 points and four assists.

Courtney Moore registered eight points and nine rebounds, and Alaina Schwarz notched four assists.

Glen Oaks travels to Kellogg Wednesday for a 5:30 p.m. tip.
