The Glen Oaks women’s basketball team is one victory away from reaching the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II national tournament.
A 56-48 win over Kalamazoo Valley Friday at Delta College in the District G semifinals set up a Saturday matchup with Lake Michigan. The Vikings lost to Lake Michigan 73-63 on the road on Jan. 3 and 56-55 at home on Feb. 1.
Glen Oaks also dropped both meeting against No. 12 KVCC, but Alaina Schwarz poured in 22 points to lead the Vikings in the upset Saturday. Schwarz added seven rebounds in the effort.
Au’zhane King added 14 points, De’Ottia Robinson posted 10 points and seven assists, and Courtney Moore registered 10 points, eight rebounds and four blocks. Anika Gasich contributed nine points and seven boards to move the program to 19-9 overall this season.
