The nonconference season continues to go smoothly for the Glen Oaks men’s basketball team, which won its second straight game Wednesday, 76-59, at home against Cuyahoga Community College from Cleveland, Ohio.
Three Vikings (8-2) players reached double figures, with Aundreyan Roberts (Lansing) scoring 25 points and Kalamazoo Central High School product Angelo Griffis posting 20. Fellow Maroon Giants alumnus Lee Gardner finished with 11.
Glen Oaks is tied for the second-best winning percentage (.800) among Michigan Community College Athletic Association teams and leads the Western Conference in that category. Oakland (.889) and Mott (.800) are tops in the Eastern Division with league play set to begin Jan. 3.
“I thought we played well on both ends only giving up 59 points on defense and surgically making the right decisions on offense,” Glen Oaks coach Steve Proefrock said
Aaron Ashley registered 22 points for Cuyahoga, followed by Anthony Lamar (11) and Garry Brun (10).
The Vikings head to Wayne Community College Saturday for a 3 p.m. tipoff.
