Three Rivers rolled to a 63-36 girls basketball road win versus Allegan Tuesday evening.
Senior Hadley Miller hit two milestones, becoming the TR career leader in both assists (209) and steals (272). The future Grand Valley State Laker surpasses 2011 grad Morgan Stuut for both marks. Stuut went on to earn All-American honors playing at Saint Xavier University.
“We kept Allegan on their heels defensively and had a lot of success inside,” said Ladycats head coach Jason Bingaman. “We did not have our best game defensively, more missed assignments than usual, but we will have nights like that.”
Three Rivers took a 17-10 lead into the first quarter break. The Tigers got back within three early in the second, but the Wildcats would close the half on a 26-6 run and open the third quarter with a 12-0 run.
“We were able to respond to Allegan’s run with a big run ourselves,” added Bingaman. “Kali (Heivilin) was great inside for us, Natalie (Barnes) had her best night rebounding. Excited to get to work tomorrow to get better.”
Heivilin had a team-high 24 points and 13 rebounds for the Wildcats. Miller also had a double-double on 20 points and 10 boards.
Now 7-0, Three Rivers hosts Sturgis in a Wolverine Conference South Division game. The Wildcats then host Plainwell Monday, which can be heard live via JoeInsider.com. Allegan falls to 3-6 with the defeat and hosts Paw Paw Friday.
