Mendon closed the girls basketball regular season Thursday with a 54-47 road win against Cassopolis. The Hornets sank 10 free throws in the fourth quarter to seal the win and season sweep over the Rangers.
The win gives Mendon a 17-3 regular season record and a 15-3 Southwest 10 Conference mark, third behind Bloomingdale and Hartford. Cassopolis ends at 12-8 and fourth in the league standings at 11-7.
District play lies ahead with the Hornets facing Burr Oak Monday in the first round from Athens. The Rangers play Wednesday at their district’s host Watervliet in the semifinal.
