Colon smacked Pittsford 49-13 Thursday to close their girls basketball regular season. The Magi will carry a six-game winning streak into a district tournament that they host.
“Huge win for the Magi tonight, the girls really wanted to show that we are a top tier team in the SCAA,” said Colon coach Robbie Hattan. “Pittsford is a very good team in our league. We started slow as Pittsford brought an intense man-to-man defense, once we settled down, we were able to get going offensively.”
The Magi finish at 13-4 and meet Howardsville Christian in Wednesday’s 5:30 p.m. district semifinal. The Wildcats (5-6) meet North Adams-Jerome Monday at 7 p.m. from Waldron.
