Three Rivers baseball started the season with a trip north against perennial power Portage Northern on Tuesday. The Huskies won both, dominating game one 11-1, but the Wildcats gave them a fight in a 3-2 second game.
“First game jitters against a power house team put us in a hole early,” said TR coach Jason Williams. “Nice pitching performances in game two settled the team down and the boys competed well. Looking forward to conference play on Friday.”
TR’s home and Wolverine Conference opener is set for Friday against Plainwell. PN travels to Lakeview Thursday in their first SMAC action of 2022.
