Zach Ludwick threw four innings of scoreless ball in his Game 1 start for Three Rivers Tuesday at home in what turned out to be a 5-1 victory. The Eagles came back and claimed a 4-2 win in Game 2.
In the opener, Ludwick gave up five hits, struck out three and walked two. Mitchell Coney tossed two hitless innings of relief and Ty Hackenberg closed things out with no hits and one earned run allowed.
Parker Ellifritz led the Wildcats with two singles and a pair of RBI. Austin Schrader, Jalen Heivilin, Gavin Charvat, Rico Scare and Ludwick each had hits. Charvat, Scare and Ashley Manansala drove in runs.
Schoolcraft did not report game stats.
Ellifritz started Game 2 for Three Rivers and surrendered one hit and one earned run over three innings. He struck out one and walked six. The game was tied 1-1 after three, but Schoolcraft posted two runs in the top of the fourth to pull ahead for good.
Charvat was credited with the loss after one inning where he allowed one hit and two earned runs. Charvat finished with a strikeout and three walks. Dawson Skrzypek threw the final three innings without giving up a hit. He walked two batters.
Manansala doubled and drove in a run, and Schrader, Heivilin and Scare singled. Charvat had the other RBI for the Wildcats, who are now 2-2 for the season.
